Digitalization, Technology, and Data in the Agriculture Sector

CPHRM has played a pivotal role in agriculture digitization, financing, education, e-extension services, and marketing. This has been realized by developing Kenya's Integrated Agricultural Management information system that cuts across the agriculture ecosystem, from small and large-scale farm registration, financing through the e-subsidy module, extension services delivery, market linkage, and insights generation. The platform has revolutionized agriculture towards data-driven farming and decision-making. The platform is also an enabler of smart farming where agriculture-based information is seamlessly disseminated to the stakeholders while ensuring equal access to the information. With a modular and interoperable system, the decision-makers, administrators, and stakeholders can at a glance view the agricultural performance in the Country through the robust and informative dashboards at both county and national levels.  The project is being implemented for the Kenyan government through the Ministry of Agriculture and  Livestock Development (MoALD) with funding from FAO. Project Link.

Food security in Africa is essential, and through the Food Authority of Kenya (AFA), we have been engaged to implement a scalable, interoperable, and accessible value chain mapping platform that maps Key value chains in specific counties in Kenya. The system registers and maintains the value chain history, farming activities, inputs, produce, and the market performance of the farmers. This farmer's agricultural history is used in creating business plans and financial profiles for the farmers that are acceptable for agricultural financing by credit facilities. The platform leverages the data analytics tools to give key insights used for decision-making and showing key indicators of food security in the county. Project Link

Technology in the Pharmaceutical Sector

We supported Transparency International in developing an interface program to collect data on drug pricing for consumers, major suppliers, and manufacturers. The system has enabled consumers and all stakeholders to acquire timely and accurate information about drug pricing in the sector, which is a key milestone in ensuring transparency.
